Oddity

So the guy who rear-ended me sent me some get-well flowers. This is a nice gesture.

Except that he sent it on April Fools Day, and the florist put his message of "I'm terribly sorry and I hope you feel better soon" on an April Fools Day Card, in a Happy April Fools Day envelope, which led my office to wonder just what on earth he was trying to say.

I, frankly, am astounded to find out that enough people send flowers on April Fools' Day to create a demand for cards and envelopes. It just never struck me as an April Fools sort of thing to do.

The other oddity is that I'm not even at work today, since I'm taking a few days off this week, which meant the flowers got delivered and most of the office was trying to figure out who would send me an April Fools Joke until I called and told them to just open the card.
