At least one candidate focuses on critical campaign issues:

I know, I know. Most of you think that the Republican candidates are wasting our time chatting about the Confederate flag again (from the Department of Stating the Obvious: Uh, dudes? The Confederacy lost. I'm all for embracing utterly lost and idiotic historical causes myself -- let's hear it for the innocence of Richard III! -- and if you wanna fly a nice racist symbol on your own property, be my guest, but can we cut this inanity about displaying a Confederate flag on federal property already? Again: South = lost. Ok. Siderant over.) but I am pleased to tell you that at least one candidate has addressed what should be the real concern of voters everywhere: Do our candidates possess the practical knowledge of how to fry squirrels on popcorn poppers? I must admit that, otherwise, Mike Huckabee and I agree on absolutely nothing, and I am disturbed by his ongoing refusal to discuss other tactics in the squirrel war -- note that he is completely failing to promise that he will put squirrels in the White House popcorn poppers -- but at least someone is paying attention to this critical issue.

On a related note, scientists have now uncovered proof of deceptive squirrel tactics. Fear them, my friends. Fear them.

What's even better is that he was doing it in his college dorm. This isn't some sort of, "Back on the farmstead, grandmaw used to fire up the ol' popcorn popper whenever pappy done got himself a tree-rat". This was, "while other guys in college were getting laid and partying it up, my buddies & I were illegally cooking up the squirrels."

Well, supposedly he was planning to be a minister even back then...

I also take this as further proof that absolutely nobody pays attention to what happens in college dorms. Nobody.

There is a Doctor Who audio play about Richard III and his innocence.
One of their better ones I thought.

I missed that one, but then again I don't think I've ever listened to any of the Doctor Who audio stuff, just the video.

I take it you've read _Daughter of Time_? Or is there other interesting stuff out there about his innocence?

I saw _Richard III_ at an impressionable age, and I thought the seduction scene (over a coffin, if I recall correctly) was incredibly hot. I suspect that increased my interest when I ran into _Daughter of Time_ years later.

Actually I read Daughter of Time after reading several other biographies arguing for and against Richard's innocence. I'm not arguing for the man's sainthood, but it seems pretty clear that he got an (understandably) bum rap from his Tudor successors eager to maintain their own grip on the throne, especially since the man who admitted to murdering the princes confessed only under torture. I like the theory that John Howard, later the first Duke of Norfolk, killed him.

And that seduction scene -- yeah, depends upon how it's done, but I can imagine that if done well, it would be hot. The one time I saw a live performance it was just creepy, and Anne came off as a total idiot.
